I just switched over to a birthing center and our centering classes start later this month. This post made me really excited for them! I hope I get a glimpse into my husband's thoughts the way you have. It's so hard to figure out what's going on in his brain about this whole thing, not sure if other ladies have the same experience.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-914382632005868190.post-34469884337948185382013-09-16T08:33:26.922-07:002013-09-16T08:33:26.922-07:00WOW! Not to mention a couples pre-natal yoga class (shockingly C seems on board - nice to see our men step up, eh?). Anyway, loving the drawings!

Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17685641936657833904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-914382632005868190.post-69578619300617282792013-09-15T09:03:01.577-07:002013-09-15T09:03:01.577-07:00Super lovely pictures. Now laughing away to myself at the thought of my physicist husband drawing ANYTHING, never mind 'our journey through pregnancy', you're a lucky woman! B is such a sweetheart.

The last hour of our class every week is pure relaxation, breathing and positioning. I think I'm starting to get in to it more now, as generally I'm pretty good at just zoning out and not thinking about anything but the guided imagery stuff is pretty useful. Husband is pretty sceptical about that side of it but is working at the breathing techniques with me so I really can't complain.

I think I would choose a house cat as well, but more because they are pretty worry free and relaxed, but always alert. So excited to come and see your nursery. Now I actually have a room to make into one I'm desperately stealing ideas!Lornahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10025158792713376297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-914382632005868190.post-86184526675970558992013-09-15T08:15:55.254-07:002013-09-15T08:15:55.254-07:00Wow, what a guy you have! I'm sure if I were asked to draw something, my drawing skills are really lacking and definitely wouldn't look as good as your cat. I would probably draw an antelope to represent my journey to parenthood. It's nomadic so that kind of symbolizes my travel and international adoption, and it's also not typical, just like my journey. BUT...B's drawing of your pregnancy journey is just beautiful. You should totally frame it and hang it in the nursery - there's your last minute touch worked out!:)
(And yes, I know that is a pretty hippy dippy idea in itself, but I'd still do it.)Sadiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14325203869605294768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-914382632005868190.post-80134428021225162512013-09-15T07:17:04.288-07:002013-09-15T07:17:04.288-07:00Your little kitty was so cute, and your husband...Your little kitty was so cute, and your husband's artwork is amazing! I got a little teary too, as you were describing his explanation for his last work. You definitely just have to 100% buy into it and let go of your skepticism for it to work (not that I've had a chance to 'test' it with labor yet). I paid about $150 for the Hypnobabies homestudy program, which is SO well thought out, and I would say the biggest component aside from relaxation is reprogramming. When I was younger, the thought of giving birth scared me, and although I was already much more at ease with the whole thing by the time I got pregnant, the language and affirmations on the MP3s really does change the way you think about birthing. I started the program when I was about 24 weeks, I think, and it's been completely worth it just for the positivity I've gained during my pregnancy. I do think you can avoid a lot of pain by remaining relaxed and unafraid, as you then let your body work the way it's built to -- we'll find out soon!Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03644501843801907359noreply@blogger.com
